Orthotics are customized shoe inserts that help to support foot arches, alleviate heel pain and help to compensate for toe joint deformity. Orthotics are covered by most extended health care but need to be prescribed and casted by specific practitioners (chiropractors, chiropodist, medical doctors, or podiatrist).
